Industry Insight
As we start the week, bonds are in a great place. This is in spite of potentially negative news as we continue throughout this week. Consumer Price Index numbers come out this week, and might end up swinging momentum down if numbers continue to be less than favorable.
The 10-year Treasury yields hit new long-term highs of 3.20%, which also makes this early week bump surprising. However, another big drop in stocks provided some safe-haven for bonds. Lower oil prices also didn’t hurt as we move into the week.
*As of 2:00pm this afternoon bonds are up big. We will see how the incoming news this week affects the market (most likely in the negative), and as always, let me know if you have questions!
